About Virginia Criminal Law

As former prosecutors, we know that the Commonwealth of Virginia takes a tough stance against crime.  Virginia is known to be very conservative in terms of law enforcement and the state does not allow for the expungement of criminal convictions. This means that if you are convicted of a criminal offense in Virginia you generally will not be able to have your record expunged. If you are charged with a crime and the charges are dismissed, or if you are acquitted of the crime, you may be able to petition for expungement.
